From a young age Yvonne knew she wanted to sing and write her own songs, it felt like it was in her DNA, a passion she needed to follow.

She began classical vocal training when she was 21 and passed the Trinity College Grade 3 exam with Merit.  But that style of singing didn't really excite her so she started singing rock songs for a local 90's covers band. She then moved into more pop style songs as the lead vocal half of a duo in 2000, gigging regularly in the city on the weekends.  During this time she wrote many original songs with a view to recording and releasing them some time in the future...a dream which is only now coming to fruition.

Re-working and recording these songs has been an exciting adventure with each one now taking on a new feel and sometimes a new meaning. Yvonne feels inspired by her English ancestry and interest in Tudor history, incorporating various instruments from the medieval era to many of her songs.

 

Her upcoming releases will invite the listener to share in a collection of musical tales which are as meaningful now as when they were first created.

Born in England, Yvonne has spent most of her life living in or near the city of Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand. She feels inspired to be creative through her spiritual interests, the beautiful scenery and her adored animals at her country home.
